Sana Nurani: Professional Makeup & Hair Artist
My passion for creativity and design began at a very young age. Drawn by a desire to create, I experimented with expressing myself through sketching, painting and sewing before I found my calling in Makeup Artistry. Inspired by the world-renown Kevyn Aucoin bibles on makeup artistry, I had finally found the ideal medium for my creative outlet, merging beauty, fashion, and design into a cohesive milieu.
I obtained my formal training in Makeup Artistry at Blanche MacDonald, where I had the opportunity to learn skills and techniques from award-winning industry professionals. Under their tutelage, I was able to apply my training to developing my own signature style.
In the past, I have had the honour of working with Miss Teen Canada World 2013, Miss World Canada Petites Finalists 2014, backstage at Vancouver Fashion Week and with up-and-coming local designer Stephanie Hung of Nina Tan Designs.
Makeup — a whirlwind of colors and textures — is my passion. My philosophy is that every individual is beautiful and unique in their own way. My job, as a makeup artist, is to use my creativity and the tools at my disposal to enhance and magnify the intrinsic beauty that lies within each of us so that we can put our best face forward.
